    PE80 is the medium-duty grade of polyethylene pipe resin with a Minimum Required Strength (MRS) of 8 MPa per ISO 12162. While PE100 is the premium grade for high-pressure applications, PE80 remains a reliable and cost-effective choice for lower-pressure irrigation, rural water supply, and drainage systems.

    PE80 pipes use a monomodal HDPE resin that offers good pressure performance for applications up to PN 10. For small-diameter agricultural pipes (20–110mm) at PN 4–6, PE80 provides all the advantages of HDPE — flexibility, corrosion resistance, UV stability, and leak-proof joints — at a slightly lower material cost than PE100.

    The key difference from PE100 is that PE80 requires slightly thicker walls to achieve the same pressure rating, resulting in a marginally smaller internal bore. For most farm-level irrigation where flow volumes are moderate and pressures are below PN 8, this difference is negligible. For high-pressure, large-diameter, or long-distance water supply, PE100 is the better choice.

    Choose PE80 when your application requires PN 6 or lower pressure and cost is a priority — typically farm-level drip/sprinkler mainlines, rural water supply, and gravity drainage. For PN 8 and above, or for long-distance trunk mains, PE100 is more cost-effective due to thinner walls and greater flow.
    Yes. TARKO PE80 pipes are certified under IS 4984:2016, the same standard as PE100. They carry the ISI mark and come with BIS licence copy and test certificates — eligible for government tenders and subsidy schemes.
    PE80 pipes are practically used up to PN 10 (10 bar). Higher pressures are technically possible but require very thick walls, making PE100 more economical. For PN 12.5 and above, always use PE100.
    Yes, if they have the same outer diameter and compatible wall thickness. Use electrofusion couplers for the most reliable mixed-grade joint. However, the joint pressure rating is limited to the lower-grade pipe.
